My Journey to Teaching
When I first picked up a camera, I had no idea what I was doing. Coming all the way from Germany, I found myself in Australia without knowing anyone. I had no guide, no roadmap—just me, a camera, and a lot of trial and error. I made mistakes with my camera that, looking back, feel like the rite of passage for any photographer or videographer.
I stumbled over settings, missed shots, and fumbled with editing tools, wishing someone could show me the way.
I remember those early days well. The frustration of not getting it right, the moments of doubt, and the slow, steady growth that came from doing it all myself. As much as I wished back then for someone to teach me, I’m grateful for every misstep now.
Those mistakes weren’t just lessons; they were shaping me into the photographer, videographer, and coach I am today.
Because I learned the hard way, I understand the beginner’s journey better than most. I know what it feels like to want guidance, to crave clarity, and to wonder if you're good enough.
