For the past six months, I’ve walked 10000 Steps a day. Every single day. No matter how busy I was, how tired I felt, or what the weather threw at me, I made sure to get outside and move.
At first, it was just about forming a habit, one small thing I could do for myself. But over time, it became so much more. Walking helped me clear my mind , shake off stress, and honestly, it just made me feel better . My mental health improved, and I started looking forward to those moments of movement each day.
Then, at some point, I started wondering… What if I ran?
I didn’t suddenly decide to become a runner overnight. It was more of a curiosity, a “let’s just see how this feels” kind of thing.
So, my best friend Kate ( my Nutritionist ) and I went to a running Club twice called the Craft Run.
It was fun, it was challenging, and it made me realise one very important thing: I need better shoes.
For half a year, I had walked every single step in the same shoes ( I don't know how old they are already ) . They had been with me through every season, every long walk, every late-night stroll. And I thought they were fine.
Until I tried to run.
That’s when I felt every worn-down bit of cushioning, every lack of support. It wasn’t just uncomfortable, it was holding me back. If I was ever going to give running a real shot, I needed shoes that could actually handle it.
Neither my best friend nor I wanted to spend a fortune, but we also knew we needed something good. ( We are just like that ) After a bit of research, we settled on the shoes we wanted, now it was just a matter of finding the best deal.
That’s when I found Capital One Shopping a site that automatically searches for the lowest prices. I wasn’t expecting much, but within seconds, it pulled up the best deal on the exact shoes we wanted. No endless scrolling, no second guessing, just easy.
And just like that, we had our first real running shoes . Kate decided for On Cloud Vista and I decided on Nike.
So, am I a runner now? Not quite. But I want to be !
For now, I’m still walking my 10K steps a day, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll start adding in more running. But this time, I actually have the right shoes for it.
And because I’m a photographer , of course, I took some photos along the way of the shoes, of our first steps toward running, and of all the moments in between. πΈ Enjoy the photos!
If you’ve ever gone from walking to running, or even just thought about it like me, I’d love to hear your experience. What helped you get started? Drop a comment, I’m all ears! π

the relationships we were afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long to make.” ο»Ώ
